   Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin was by far the most influential speaker at the commemorations on the 20th organised by the Oireachtas. Whilst An Taoiseach mentioned partition, it was Deputy Ó Caoláin alone who highlighted the shortcomings of subsequent Dáils as partitionist parliaments – and solemnly reminded listeners of the ultimate sacrifices made by fellow TDs over the years, from Terence MacSwiney to Kieran Doherty. The day is coming when the elected representatives of all Ireland will sit and legislate for the Irish people; and whilst it may be OK for the partitionist parties – Fianna Fáil included to embellish this anniversary, we as Irish Republicans have work still to do.
